“Loser”

It’s interesting seeing what people’s reactions are to questionable calls are. I was recently dealt AQ of hearts and raised it to 2x's the big blind early in a SNG. The small blind raised it up and the big blind folded and I called the raise. The flop came out 6h, 7d, 3h giving me a flush draw. I made a small bet thinking that if the other person probably didn’t get anything from the flop. Unfortunately he raised it up to 630 indicating he probably either hit or had a high pair. I decided to risk it and go all in with my remaining 1290 chips. The other person called and showed Ks, Kh. Fortunately for me 7h came on the turn and a Jh came on the river. I won the pot with an ace high flush. The person who didn’t win came back and called me a “loser”.

I’m not quite sure what the person was trying to accomplish with the comment. I would think he’d want me to feel good about hitting the flush because it wasn’t the best call. Early in the SNG I should probably waiting for a better time to put all of my chips in the middle, for instance when I had hit a flop. By coming back with the comment the other player made me think about my play and why he thought it would be the wrong play. The next time I might not make that bet and I probably wouldn’t have hit my flush and he wouldn’t get all of my chips. I’m sure he felt somewhat good about the comment, but in the long run it will probably cost him chips.

On my way to Busting Again

Played some free rolls and made a little money on Full Tilt. Up to a whopping $2.00 in cash, $1.71 in tournament dollars and 3,000 Full Tilt Points (FTP) (about $15 cash equivalent). I find that I’m not very good at the No Limit ring games, but appear to be having luck playing the 50 FTP SNG satellites to the Daily Dollar. The tables are usually pretty soft so it’s been fairly easy to stock up on the FTP. The tables pay the top three, the top two get an entry to the Dollar Daily worth 200 FTP and the third place person gets 50 FTP.

Once I get up 300 FTP I try my hand at a 300 FTP SNG satellite to the Big Little Tournament. The players are a bit tighter at this type of SNG, but still winnable. The top two finishers get 1,100 FTP and the third place finisher gets 500 FTP.

Once I get up to 5000 FTP I’m going to try out actually playing the Big Little Tournament which is a guaranteed $250,000 prize pool.

Up Some

Played the first sit and go and came in second place with $0.27, or a net $0.16 gain. Played it pretty safe until I made the money. The other two players had about double the chips I had. Was able to outlast one of the other players and finish in second place.

Small Stake

So I've got $0.28, enough for two $0.09+$0.01 sit and go. We'll see how well it goes.

$10+1 MTT 1,400 Players

After entering this tournament I'm down to $11.25. Probably should have gone with a smaller buyin since I'm down to almost nothing. Didn't fare well and was out in 836th place.

$24+2 MTT KO Tournament 601 Players

Not sure if I should have folded the last hand. The tournament was down to hand to hand play for the money. Was dealt AK in the big blind with a raiser in mid position. I was really low on chips and this was probably the best hand I was going to see. I thought about folding and I probably should have. The raiser ended up having pocket aces and I was out on the bubble. I'm close to going bust and am down to $39.75. I'm going to have to start playing lower limits now until I can get a bigger bankroll or go broke and play with Full Tilt Points which started this whole thing in the first place.
